This simple color wheel shows how much variety you can get from 3 DecoArt Americana paints:
- Bahama Blue
- Strawberry
- Yellow Light
These colors fit the CMY color wheel of Cyan Blue, Magenta, and Yellow which is typically used in the print industry vs. the traditional Primary Red-Primary Blue-Yellow. It is becoming more popular with artists.
Limited Palette Create Harmony
When you use a limited color palette and mix variations for your painting, it will make your end result harmonious.
I used this selection of colors + White to paint the Bee Mine Pink Daisy Heart Wreath.
Keep an Art Journal to Experiment With Various Color Wheel Mixes
I brush mixed the colors on my palette then used a circle stencil to paint them on a piece of multi-media paper to save as a reference. I suggest you try it to get comfortable with some simple color mixing. You can start creating an art journal and continue choosing 3 variations of blue, red, and yellow to see what you can create.
